About us
Who we are and why we are building the Nairobi Beyond 2040 Project.
The Nairobi Beyond 2040 Project is a long-term development model created by Tree Food Systems. Its purpose is simple: to build the infrastructure, industries and economic opportunities that Nairobi's growing population will need to find decent work.
The problem we see
Nairobi is growing fast, and jobs have not kept pace. Too many residents travel long distances every day to reach work, spending a large part of what they earn on transport. We believe work should be close to where people live.
What we are building
- A platform to raise the funding needed to construct four 12-story, high-end buildings in each of Nairobi's 17 sub-counties.
- Business centers filled with productive businesses: manufacturing, retail, hospitality, pharmacy, banking and more.
- Jobs for youth, women and men within or near their own sub-county.
Who it is for
Every resident of the county. From a young person looking for a first job to a tailor, trader or shop owner who needs secure premises, the business centers are designed for the people who already make Nairobi work.
